Bassist Jeremy Davis of Paramore has quit the band, only months ahead of their 2016 Parahoy! Cruise. Davis was one of the two remaining original members left in the group and now only Hayley Williams remains as a founding member. The group cited to fans that they are still slated to perform at the event.

This is not the first time that a founding member has quit the group, in 2010 sibling cofounders Josh Farro and Zac Farro left Paramore in what was reported by SPIN to be a bitter parting.

"The last few years have held some of the most fulfilling moments we've had yet... as people, as friends, and as a band," Paramore posted to their official Facebook page. "The Self-Titled era was one that we knew would be important for us but also one we'd eventually move on from. In moving forward, there is growth, pain, and change... and sometimes change is not at all what you hoped for."

The band continued with, "We've written and re-written this countless times and there's just not a good way to put it... Jeremy is no longer going to be in the band with us. To be honest, this has been really painful. After taking time to consider how to move forward, we ultimately found that we really do believe Paramore can and should continue on. And so we will."

Paramore first announced the cruise in April and the on-board concert is supposed to run from Mar. 5 to Mar. 9 in 2016, stopping everywhere from Miami to Mexico. The band is scheduled to give two performances while on the cruise, which features events such as "Paraoke" and even a Q&A segment with what was scheduled to be the three members Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York.

The festival website reported that theme nights and stand-up comedians will be aboard the Norwegian Pearl. At the time, the line-up was still in question, but the first Parahoy! cruise featured Tegan and Sara and New Found Glory, whose front man Chad Gilbert is now Williams' fiance. While the band cited in their Facebook post that "We will see some of you really soon on Parahoy," it remains to be seen how Davis's departure will effect the event.
