2015 was a resurgent year for music biopics. From the critical and commercial success of the N.W.A film, Straight Outta' Compton, and Love & Mercy, a multi decade-spanning look at the life of Beach Boys' legend Brian Wilson, to under-radar-releases like the Miles Davis tale Miles Ahead, there was no shortage of great stories about music legends. The near future looks no less exciting, with several big names lined up for their Hollywood close-ups. Here are five biopics to look out for featuring the likes of Tupac Shakur, Outkast, Susan Boyle and Kurt Cobain.

All Eyez on Me - Tupac Shakur

After the success of Compton, it's no surprise that Hollywood is looking to repeat the formula by focusing on the exploits of another West Coast rap legend. Currently filming, All Eyez on Me, promises to be an engrossing look at the life of one of Rap's enduring figures, Tupac Shakur. Lead actor Demetrious Shipp Jr. certainly looks the part. Our eyes will definitely be on this one.

Outkast

The West Coast isn't the only rap scene getting attention in the biopic scene. If Outkast's Big Boi is to be believed, a film about the legendary Atlanta duo is currently in development. Who do you want to see play Big and Andre 3000?

Susan Boyle

Rumors of a film about the Britain's Got Talent singer have swirled since 2013, with Academy Award winner Meryl Streep tipped to star as the singer. Last August, fresh news about the project surfaced, indicating that Boyle herself was taking acting classes so she could make a cameo in the film.

Kurt Cobain

2015 was already a huge year for the late Nirvana front man thanks to the success of the HBO documentary Montage of Heck. Could that pave the way for a full-fledged Cobain biopic in the near future? A listing for the film has already been made on IMDB, but we'll have to wait and see.
