Keith Urban is ready to pull away from American Idol and pull a different Ripcord. On Monday (Jan. 11), the country star announced that he is planning for a world tour and release of a new album for this summer.

According to Billboard, Urban is not yet finished recording on his new album Ripcord and isn't sure when the album will be released. But, that hasn't stopped the "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" singer from planning the accompanying tour. The Ripcord World Tour will launch on June 2 in Kansas City and span 45 dates throughout North America between then and Nov. 19, including Toronto; Youngstown, Ohio; New Orleans and Brooklyn.

Though Urban is not sure whether or not his album Ripcord will be finished or released before his tour kicks off, that won't stop him from going on the road with some new songs in his arsenal.

"This tour feels really good. I feel really good about not only the production, [but] the new songs, [and] also the fact that we keep getting new people coming to see us play live, because of [previous album] Fuse and because of American Idol, so hopefully we can build upon that with this new record," he said.

Despite not having finished work on the album, Urban has released its first two singles, "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" and "Break on Me." His last album, Fuse, was released in September 2013.

As for the tour, tickets are set to go on sale on Jan. 29 in "some markets." And while specific venues haven't been announced for the vast majority of the tour dates, the cities have arrived.
