Since the release of Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, there have been countless comparisons between Future and West’s latest G.O.O.D. Music signee, Desiigner.

On Saturday (Feb. 27), the Atlanta rapper performed in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom and shared a few choice words for those copying his style.

“I’ma let y’all n*ggas know, it’s only one Future in this motherf*cker and I’m really the plug, really.”

It has been speculated that Future’s comments were directed at Desiigner, who appeared on tracks on TLOP and had fans confused because he sounds similar to the EVOL rhymer. The comparisons sparked a slew of memes and the Brooklyn rapper even reposted one on his Instagram account.

Since catapulting to the top of the rap game, Future has released an impressive output of music. Earlier this month, he dropped his third No. 1 effort, which marked his third straight title to debut at No. 1.

He kick started his winning streak with his Monster mixtape back in October 2014. The tape was followed up by 56 Nights and Beast Mode and birthed a new slew of fans known on social media as the “#FutureHive.”

Last July, Future charted his first No. 1 album thanks to DS2. The album moved 131,500 actual albums, more than double what his sophomore album Honest sold during spring of 2014. The project easily took the title as Future's most successful album yet. DS2 was followed by What A Time to Be Alive, his joint album with Drake.

Future is slated to make his SNL debut in March and Jonah Hill will host.
