Yesterday, it was reported that the New Jersey venue for the concert of Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato had been evacuated due to the discovery of a mysterious package near the area. However, according to law enforcers, an evacuation never occurred at the Prudential Center in Newark.

Jonas and Lovato have been traveling together for the Future Now tour to promote the latter's fifth studio album, Confident. However, the duo's concert in Newark almost got delayed or cancelled after reports indicated that the staff members working inside the Prudential Center were evacuated at around 3 p.m. yesterday, according to Ace Showbiz.

According to the initial reports, police officers cleared out the area after finding a suspicious package near the center. Due to the recent violent events in the country, particularly the shooting and killing of five cops in Dallas, Texas on July 7, law enforcers are on high alert, which prompted the evacuation order.

However, upon inspecting the package, the cops learned that it was just an abandoned microwave.

An evacuation really did occur but the police officers noted that it was not the Prudential Center that was cleared out, TMZ confirmed. Instead, a different building that was closest to the package was the one that was evacuated.

According to the celebrity news site, the mix-up in the reports happened after an officer misheard the information that was delivered over dispatch. That same officer was the one who relayed the details of the incident to media outlets.

Since the Prudential Center was never affected by the incident, the New Jersey leg of Jonas and Lovato's concert tour went off without a hitch. The organizers of the event even sent out a tweet to confirm that fans have nothing to worry about.
