To quell the anxiety surrounding it’s release, reps for Apple Music are now telling fans that Frank Ocean’s new album is slated to be unleashed 24 to 72 hours from now. His follow up to Channel Orange was supposed to have appeared on Friday (Aug. 5) but was nowhere to be found when the due date arrived.

Things have gotten so heated that fans have been asking company employees when the record is set to be released through the live support chat rooms provided by Apple.

Reportedly when Pigeons And Planes reached out this past Friday (Aug. 12) they were told by an employee, “What I can assure you is that the album will be released soon.”

Others were told that it was set to be released within 24 to 72 hours, and when asked this by Pigeons And Planes the employee replied, “Yes! That’s what we can say about it.”

It was also established that the information had come directly from Ocean’s record label, referred to as the “content provider” by the representative. According to all the information, this would mean that the album will be released before this upcoming Tuesday (Aug. 16).

Channel Orange has had a 40 percent increase in sales following the no-show of Boys Don’t Cry and has not appeared on the charts since May 2013 according to NME.

In addition to peppering Apple reps with questions, some avid fans even hatched a ransom plot to kidnap Ocean’s brother until the album was released. The plan was posted on a Reddit thread and it was said that Ocean would be blackmailed into releasing Boys Don’t Cry.

Fans had originally thought that the album would be released in July 2015, and then July 2016, but both of these dates have come and gone.
