All eyes will be on P!nk on Feb. 4, when she takes the stage and sings the national anthem to kick off the 2018 Super Bowl LII.

On Monday, Jan. 8, the NFL Network announced that the renowned pop singer has been chosen to perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The event will be televised live on NBC.

P!nk's Time To Shine

Her performance marks the first time she appears on stage at the Super Bowl. P!nk, born Alecia Beth Moore, will join the ranks of popular singers such as Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and Billy Joel who all performed the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the sports event in the past. The national anthem is notoriously difficult to sing, and several seasoned performers have made mistakes in front of millions of viewers in the United States and all over the world. Needless to say, the singer-songwriter's performance is a television event that people will talk about even after the games have closed. On her Twitter account, the "Beautiful Trauma" singer teased her appearance at the 2018 Super Bowl LII.

P!nk's Year

P!nk released her seventh studio album in October and has since been making headlines. In fact, Beautiful Trauma debuted at the number 1 spot of Billboard 200 a few days after it was launched. According to the media brand, the new album exceeded expectations and sold 408,000 equivalent album units, 384,000 of which were from traditional album sales.

Beautiful Trauma marks the singer's second album to bow at the top spot of the music chart.

She is also set to take the stage at the 2018 Grammy Awards. She will perform alongside Lady Gaga, whose album Joanne was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album.

P!nk received a nod from The Recording Academy for her hit single, "What About Us." The song was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Other performers at the awards ceremony include Childish Gambino and Little Big Town. The event will be held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In addition, the mother of two will leave home and go on a trek around the world to meet fans and promote her new album. The Beautiful Trauma 2018 World Tour will kick off in Phoenix this March. The singer is set to perform in major cities such as Chicago, Orlando, Houston, and Toronto.

A documentary about the making of the new album is now streaming on Apple Music.
