DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman, recently shared his plan to persuade the judge during his client's upcoming sentencing hearing.

The rapper will play at least one of his songs since he may be too emotional to speak during his sentencing hearing, DMX's lawyer adds. Richman decided on this move because he wants Judge Jed Rakoff to get to know the rapper better and the best way to do this is through DMX's music.

Richman sent the lyrics of "Slippin" and "The Convo" to the judge according to the court documents obtained online. He is also requesting Rakoff to consider placing the rapper in a 60-day study by qualified consultants instead of sending him to jail.

"It was a salvation of sort to shut out the noise. It is raw Earl. We are not here or desirous of molding him into what some may want to see; Earl is uniquely him and that is both his beauty of mind and his genius," said Richman.

Earlier this year, Rakoff sent DMX back to jail after the rapper failed to obey his bail conditions. Prior to this, he pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges. Last week, prosecutors demanded that DMX spend five years in jail.
