The top 24 contestants on American Idol have just been named. They are set to perform live for America's vote starting on Sunday.

The Top 24

Layla Spring is the first contestant to learn about her fate during Monday night's episode. Her adorable sister Dixie Spring waited for Layla to share the good news with her. Layla also happens to be one of the youngest contestants this season.

Michael J. Woodard also made it to the live shows. During his Hollywood Week performance, Woodard sang Alanis Morissette's hit song "You Oughta Know" and impressed all three judges. He is also part of this season's top 24.

Gabby Barrett is another young contestant who made it to the live shows. Even though Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were not impressed by her rendition of Carrie Underwood's "Church Bells," they put her through in good faith.

Catie Turner, who made a mark during her audition, also made it to top 24. She performed a jazzy rendition of Lady Gaga's song "Bad Romance." Perry said that it was not her best performance, but all three judges could not resist how good of a singer Turner is.

Adam Sanders aka Ada Vox sung Radiohead's "Creep" and everyone could hear a pin drop during his performance. While talking to the judges, he decided to meet them as his real self and not as his drag queen counterpart. He also made it to top 24.

The other contestants who also made it to top 24 include Jurnee, Shannon O'Hara, Jonny Brenns, Mara Justine, Effie Passero, Marcio Donaldson, and Dennis Lorenzo.

Some fan favorites who did not make it past top 50 include Trevor Holmes, Thaddeus Johnson, Noah Davis, Maddie Zahm, Milo Sposato, Les Greene, Britney Holmes, William Cassanova, Harper Grace, Carly Moffa, Samothias, Lee Vasi, Victoria McQueen, Laine Hardy, and more.

'American Idol' Reboot

American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays on ABC. The reboot works just like the first 15 seasons of the hit singing competition. Now that the top 24 have been named, all of the contestants will perform every week and 12 of them will be eliminated.

Typically, there is only a top 10 on American Idol, but during some of the previous seasons, there were also top 11 and top 12 contestants.

While the show still aired on Fox, the female contestants and male contestants were grouped together. As of late, it is still unclear if this will be followed in the reboot.
