Actor Channing Tatum and television personality Jenna Dewan-Tatum have decided to end their fairytale marriage after nearly nine years.

The Shocking Announcement

On Monday, April 2, the couple decided to release a joint announcement via People Magazine so that everyone would have access to the truth. The duo stated that they have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple.

They briefly recapped their love story and added that they still care deeply about each other and vowed to support each other every step of the way. The couple shares one child together, 4-year-old Everly.

"We are still a family and will always be loving and dedicated parents to Everly. We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family's privacy," said the couple in a joint statement.

Kids' Choice Family Night

Before the Tatums dropped the announcement of their separation, People Magazine spotted the couple along with Everly on March 24 at the 2018 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. The awards show marked the first time that 4-year-old Everly made a public appearance with her famous parents.

Sources stated that Everly cheered for her father as he got into a snowball fight with his Small Foot co-stars Yara Shahidi and Zendaya.

Weeks before the family's first public appearance together, Entertainment Tonight caught up with Dewan-Tatum and longtime friend Emmanuelle Chriqui at Vanity Fair's famed after Oscars party. Dewan-Tatum revealed that she left her husband behind to keep an eye on their 4-year-old daughter.

In an interview with Health, Dewan-Tatum explained that she wanted to scream when people tell her that she and Tatum had a great marriage. The World of Dance host revealed that marriage takes a lot of time and effort to get it to work properly.

"I think there are such things as great fits. It is a great fit as long as you are growing together, and I think up until this point we've really grown together," said Dewan-Tatum.
