6ix9nine has conquered the world through his music and now, he is ready to retire or, at least, that is what he said on Instagram.

A month after he released his mixtape Day 69, the 21-year-old rapper bragged everything he has accomplished as a musician within a short period of time.

Instant Success

In a post on Instagram, the controversial rapper posted a photo of himself and said that he is ready to quit music.

"Ima quit rapping this year," he wrote on his photo's caption. "I accomplished everything I dreamed of in 5 months."

The pronouncement comes shortly after he celebrated his success by addressing his haters.

"Remember when I came out five months ago, and I came out with 'GUMMO' and everybody was just like, 'Yo, it's just a beat, it's just a beat. He got lucky. One hit wonder,'" the New York emcee said in a video (via Hot New Hip-Hop).

"Then I came out with 'KOODA' and everybody was just like 'yeah he just got lucky...it's just a phase.' Then 'KEKE' came out and all you heard was [silence] What are you going to say? 'BILLY' comes out —another Billboard hit 'RONDO' doesn't even come out. It just releases with the tape — another Billboard hit."

Tekashi 6ix9nine definitely has a lot to be proud of. His first album debuted on the number 3 spot of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts in March, shortly after Day69 was released, Billboard reported.

Prior to that, his first successful track "GUMMO," peaked at the 12th spot on Billboard 200 charts. The track also received a platinum certification plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America, which means that it has sold over 1 million copies in the world.

6ix9nine was also able to earn the respect of his peers. For his first album, he recruited the likes of Young Thug, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Fetty Wap, and Offset of Migos in Day69.

He even gained the support of fellow rapper 50 Cent in his word war against The Game.

Bad Reputation

However, his life and career were not always on an upward trajectory. The New York-based rapper pled guilty to use of a child in a sexual performance.

Several months before his rise to success, 6ixnine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor. Rapper ZillaKami posted a series of photos on social media where Tekashi, who was 18 at the time, was grabbing the breast of a young woman, reported Genius. ZillaKami claims that the girl was only 13 years old at the time the photos were taken.

The rapper is also notoriously involved in gang activities, even canceling some live performances in fear of a brawl. In February, a few days before the release of Day69, a video surfaced on the internet wherein the rapper and his crew got into a fistfight outside of the LAX.
