Nicki Minaj Drops Album Title And Release Date

On Monday, May 7, the 35-year-old walked the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the annual Met Gala. The rapper revealed to the press that her next album is called Queen.

"Well, it's a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming on June 15, and it's called Queen," Minaj shared.

She added that she embodies the word queen because she dresses like a queen every day.

The news arrived shortly after the rapper had released the music videos for her latest singles "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz." Both tracks have already made it to the Billboard Hot 100 (with "Chin-Li" reaching the Top 10). The tracks are also expected to be included in Queen, Minaj's fourth studio album.

Nicki Minaj Looks Heavenly At The 2018 Met Gala

Aside from her album announcement, Minaj made headlines on Monday night by heating up the red carpet at the 2018 Met Gala. The theme of the annual fashion and art event was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."

Several A-list celebrities such as Chadwick Boseman of Black Panther, Olivia Munn, George and Amal Clooney, Katy Perry, Madonna, and more made red carpet appearances. Minaj was on a theme as she wore a red and black ombre tulle gown with a long train and beaded head accessory.

Time reports that the amazing, devilish red gown that was created by Oscar de la Renta, was chosen by the "Anaconda" rapper because she wanted to play the more evil side of this year's theme.

"I'm the bad guy and I wanted to make sure the bad guy was here," she stated, referencing her new track "Chun-Li."
