Danny Wimmer Talks About Louder Than Life
Louder Than Life 2018 is the ultimate whiskey, food, and rock and roll experience. The first festival took place from Oct. 4 to 5, 2014 at Louisville's Champions Park. At the time, Danny Wimmer, the festival's producer, explained why he decided to launch the event in Louisville.
"When I first came to Louisville, I fell in love with the city, its diverse food, its bourbon, and its culture. It screamed 'Louder Than Life' and I felt this was the perfect destination for this kind of rock festival," said Wimmer.
Prior to signing on to the festival, Wimmer first met with the mayor's office, researched on the history of Louisville, sampled the cuisine and drinks of the city.
"I've created the Louder Than Life festival to highlight these discoveries and celebrate the 'Culinary Capital of Bourbon Country.' And, of course, the culture of rock and roll and bourbon go hand and hand!" added Wimmer.
Nine Inch Nails New Song, Album
In related news, one of the performers at the festival, Nine Inch Nails, made headlines last month following the release of its new song "God Break Down the Door." The track will be included on the band's forthcoming album Bad Witch, which will be released on June 22.
The other songs in the album are "Shit Mirror," "Ahead of Ourselves," "Play the Goddamned Park," "I'm Not For This World," and "Over and Out."
Nine Inch Nails will also embark on its Cold and Black tour starting on Sept. 18.
