As I Lay Dying reunited with frontman Tim Lambesis on a concert on Saturday, June 16, in San Diego, California.

This is the first time that the Christian heavy metal rock band performed with the singer since 2013.

As I Lay Dying Reunion Concert

"We're so very, very thankful to be up here. We're not only thankful for you guys, we're thankful for each other, we're thankful for the relationships that we've rebuilt and we're very, very excited about," said Lambesis at the Soma Sidestage this weekend. "Thank you for the opportunity to play music together again."

The band performed their hit singles including "Meaning in Tragedy" and "Confined" in front of loyal fans. The gig comes weeks after the band released "My Own Grave," a new single featuring Lambesis on vocals. This is their first new music since Awakened  in 2012.

Tim Lambesis' Sentencing And Release

In 2014, Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison for his role in a murder-for-hire plot to kill his wife, Meggan Lambesis. At the time, the two have been married for eight years and have adopted three children.

The court found that the renowned musician solicited a killer who turned out to be an undercover cop. Lambesis gave the man his wife's address, security-gate code, her photo, and dates when he will be out with their children so that he has an alibi. He also paid the agent $1,000 to take care of the deed.

NBC Los Angeles reports that the operation to bust Lambesis was staged after the metal rocker had told a man at his gym that he wanted his wife killed. He revealed that Meggan was making it difficult for him to see their children.

He was finally released from prison in December 2016.

In a statement on Facebook, Lambesis tried to make peace with his wife by writing a public apology addressed to her. He also admitted his follies to fans who looked up to him.

"There's not a single day that goes by where I don't wish I could undo the damage I caused, and out of respect for their wishes I will not discuss anything else about them (now or in the future)," the statement read via Music Feeds.

"To the people who looked up to me as an artist, I let you down in so many ways. I tried to show my best side to the public while feeding an ugly growing monster behind closed doors."
