Country musician Garth Brooks and wife, Trisha Yearwood launched a live Facebook performance last Monday, garnering 3.4 million views and causing the site to crash repeatedly, according to USA Today.

Garth is one of the artists who performed live from home after their concerts and shows were suspended following the temporary ban of public gatherings as a measure to avoid the spread of coronavirus. His Live Facebook performance with Yearwood gathered 3.4 million viewers, which caused the site to encounter technical problems, USA Today reports. The live performance is part of Brooks "Inside Studio G" a series of live performances.

Both Grammy awardees, Brooks and Yearwood, are fan-favorite country singers on social media. Brooks is popular for his hybrid type of music mixing rock, pop, and country, while Yearwood is one of the big names in country music.

USA Today quotes a fan who asked Brooks if he broke Facebook's system due to the sheer number of fans watching in his live performance.

Deseret News even reported that Brooks announced on Instagram that he will leave the stream up for more time so that people who did not catch up to the concert can still watch it live.

 The Facebook Live Concert

The concert lasted for an hour.

After setting up the concert area in their home, Brooks made his appearance and called for requests from his fans, who made up to 50,000 requests in their comments.

His fans requested various songs. Some are not in the couple's forte. Some of the songs Brooks performed were his singles "Whiskey To Wine" and "Thicker Than Blood". However, fans requested Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's song "Shallow", which the couple nailed. Yearwood also delivered a stellar performance of "Amazing Grace". Many were also shocked when they learned that Yearwood can play the guitar well.

Aside from singing "Amazing Grace", the two also made a rendition of Ed Sheeran's single "Perfect" and a song of praise, "Hallelujah".

For the couple, the live concert was a therapy for them and their fans amid the global pandemic.

Some of Brooks' fans reacted to the couple's performance via their tweets. One tweeter was amazed by the number of views the couple got on Facebook. He also adds that concerts from home by artists like Brooks might be a trend. One tweet wants an encore of Yearwood's rendition of "Shallow".
