Rihanna is British Vogue magazine's May cover. The UK fashion magazine would feature the singer-songwriter discussing her R9 album, Fenty, and aspirations of having kids.
The term R9 refers to Rihanna's much-awaited ninth studio album. Rihanna and the Navy stan fans coined it. The Navy's expected its release in 2019, based on the singer's previous hints. However, that has yet happened. "Anti" Rihanna's last album was released nearly four years ago.
Riri remains elusive as to when R9 will finally be out in the market during the interview for British Vogue. Riri further claims she is "aggressively working on music".
The Barbadian singer-songwriter is quoted saying, "I do not want my albums to feel like themes". Riri asserts she can make anything that she wants as she had done hits and tried every genre. Rihanna is best known as a pop-R&B-reggae artist.
Recently, the singer was featured on "Believe It", a single from PartyNextDoor's latest album "PARTYMOBILE". The collaboration was thought to be her sort-of comeback in the music scene.
Meanwhile, Bad Girl Riri is the first woman donning the durag on the fashionable British Vogue cover. A durag is a scarf usually worn to set black hairstyles. It symbolizes the celebration of black culture. Durag later evolved to become a strong fashion statement.
The May 2020 issue of British Vogue hits the newsstands on April 3, Friday, and will be available online for free later this week via a unique code.
Rihanna as a businesswoman
For the past few years, the Grammy-award winner donned the hat of a meticulous businesswoman. Rihanna launched Fenty Maison, a fashion house under the luxury fashion group LVMH in May 2019. The move made her the first black woman to lead a major luxury house.
In 2017, she introduced her successful lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty. The brand caters to a wide range of women, offering sizes XS to 3XL and ships to 210 countries. Savage x Fenty is estimated to be worth $150 million.
Rihanna's make-up line, Fenty Beauty, was launched in September 2017. A skincare line, Fenty Skin, will soon be added to the cosmetics brand. In case you may not know it, Fenty is Rihanna's last name.
According to Forbes, Rihanna's net worth grew to $600 million from $210 million last year. With the declared value, she is the world's wealthiest female musical artist.
Rihanna after ten years
The successful singer and businesswoman, now 32, is currently single. Riri, as reported, broke off last January with her beau of three years, billionaire Hassan Jameel.
When asked what she will be 10 years from now, Rihanna envisions herself settled with a family. She wants to have three or four kids of her own. For her, it does not matter if she would be alone in raising them. Rihanna reflects the critical thing is happiness, saying, "that's the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child." She further says, "the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love."
For the R9 album, fans are hopeful that it will come out sooner than later.
