A Global Citizen summit will precede the concert. Miley Cyrus will also attend the session as a speaker. In a previous statement, Cyrus said: "This moment requires all of us to act." The "Wrecking Ball" singer added that as Global Citizens, they call on world leaders. Cyrus urged them to fight "the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has on marginalised communities."

The British rock band will be extending efforts "to combat the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of colour." They aim to do so by calling on leaders to make testing, treatments & vaccines available to everyone. The band has also sent their gratitude to Irish officials. Coldplay called Ireland a "great example of #GlobalCitizenship." They noted that the country stands "up for people + planet #SDGs." SDG stands for Sustainable Development Goals. These are long-term goals adopted by UN member-states.

Meanwhile, Shakira said in a statement that they are having world leaders pledge funds. These will be used for testing, treatments, and vaccines to everyone.

She added: "We need health equity and global justice." The "Chantaje" artist added: "We know that only by uniting to fight for the world we want can we build back toward a healthier future for all."
