Halsey will be making her major acting debut, playing alongside "Euphoria" star Sydney Sweeney in the upcoming television series "The Player's Table."

"The Player's Table" is based on the bestselling novel "They Wish They Were Us" by Jesicca Goodman. Halsey will serve as a producer on the series, which is now in development. The series is being developed by Fifty-Fifty Films, launched by Sydney Sweeney, as well as Jean-Marc Vallée & Nathan Ross' Crazyrose and Endeavor Content. "Mickey and the Bear" director Annabella Attanasio will be the show's writer and director.

The series takes place in a luxurious Long Island prep school. Jill Newman (Sweeney), a high school senior, is working to uncover the truth behind her best friend's death three years ago, as well as what she and her fellow "players" - the name used to refer to the members of the secret society that rules the school - has to do with it.

Halsey will be taking on the role of Rachel Calloway. Rachel is an emotionally troubled young adult who sparks Jill's journey in uncovering the truth behind her best friend Shaila's murder. She was once a member of "The Player," the secret society that rules the school. Following her graduation three years ago, Rachel chose to leave the group and cut ties with her wealthy Long Island roots. She decides to return, however, when her brother Graham is convicted for Shaila's murder.

Believing that Graham had nothing to do with the murder, she returns to Long Island. She works together will Jill. Joining forces, the two embark on a mission to find the truth on what really happened the night of the murder. In doing so, Rachel hopes to exonerate her brother before he turns 18.

Halsey and Sydney Sweeney met when they joined forces to film the music video for Halsey's "Graveyard" music video. The song went on to be certified double platinum and was even nominated for a Video Music Award (VMA). The two ended up forming a bond, and Sweeney approached Halsey with the project.

Halsey first showcased her acting skills as a host of NBC's "Saturday Night Live." As a singer, Halsey has won four Billboard Music Awards, one American Music Award, one GLAAD Media Award, three Guinness World Records, and an MTV Video Music Award. She has also bagged two Grammy award nominations. She has sold over one million albums and has been streamed over six billion times in the United States alone.

Outside of her music, Halsey has used her fame and platform to speak up for causes she is passionate in. Halsey advocated for suicide prevention awareness, sexual assault victim advocacy, racial justice protests, women's rights, and LGBTQ+ rights.

Sydney Sweeney is an American actress who first gained popularity in the Netflix series "Everything Sucks" in 2018. She has also seen taking on recurring roles in the 2018 Hulu series "The Handmaid's Tale" and HBO's miniseries "Sharp Objects". In 2019, she began starring in the HBO teen series "Euphoria". That same year, she played a minor role in Quentin Tarantino's comedy-drama, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
