Rising to fame in 2017, Rex Orange County has been one of the music acts to look out for, thanks to Tyler, the Creator.

Self-releasing his debut album "Bcos U Will Never B Free" in 2015 on Soundclound and Bandcamp, Rex Orange County flew into the radar of the Grammy-winning artist Tyler, the Creator.

Enjoyed on the album, Tyler flew Rex from New Hampshire to Los Angeles to collaborate on his star-studded fourth album, "Flower Boy."

The 23-year-old English singer-songwriter continued to work under the helm of Tyler and proceeded to co-write and contribute backing vocals for "Flower Boy's" "Foreword," and "Boredom."

Born Alexander James O' Connor, Rex Orange County continued to release his second album, "Apricot Princess." The self-released album peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Heatseekers Album and Top Alternative Album Sales at No. 6.

In 2019, Rex released his third album, "Pony," which also marked as his first major-label album release with RCA Records.

The album is the most successful project of Rex Orange County as it peaked No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album charts and the Top Spot of the US Top Rock Albums for one week.

He then dropped an extended play, "Live at Radio City Music Hall," a compilation of recordings during his Pony Tour in Radio City Music Hall in New York and a documentary chronicling his tour.

Working with Tyler and 'Who Cares?'

Just yesterday, Rex Orange County finally released his much-anticipated fourth album, "Who Cares?" features Tyler, The Creator.

In a recent interview with NME, Rex opened up how Tyler's emails catapulted his career where it is right now.

Working with Tyler, the Creator, Rex realized that it had opened his eyes to "a different world" that he claimed he "couldn't possibly understand" from his bedroom in UK's countryside.

I had 500 followers on SoundCloud at the time when I headed out to LA, and nobody really knew who I was. It made me realise that if I have to believe in myself, then someone like Tyler will believe in me too.," he pointed out.

The "Best Friend" hitmaker revealed that Tyler's "seal of approval" boosted his confidence.

He also admitted that Tyler served as his "mirror to look at" to tell him that he had made it and had done it independently.
