The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees for Class of 2022 were announced in early February. Most, if not all, who were included in this year's roster seemed to be worthy of being inducted on the prestigious fall of fame.

Rock Hall Foundation Head John Sykes described this year's ballot as "diverse" as nominated artists spanned from country legend Dolly Parton, hip hop icon Eminem, and even new wave band Duran Duran, among others.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Nominees

For an artist (or band) to be eligible for nomination, they should have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year they were nominated.

As per the Class of 2022, seven out of the seventeen artists were first-time nominees, but for Eminem, it was his first time being nominated as it was his first year of eligibility.

Among those nominated for this year were Beck, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, DEVO, Judas Preist, MC5, Fela Kuti, and New York Dolls.

Rage Against The Machine, A Tribe Called Quest, Carly Simon, Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Eminem, music icons Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick, and Lionel Richie were also included in this year's diverse and star-studded ballot.

While the Rock Hall nominees were ultimately voted by a committee of more than a thousand artists, industry members, and historians, fans play a huge part in selecting the five (or seven) inductees for this year.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Fan Voting and Predictions

Fans can vote daily at the Rock Hall website or in person at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

The top five artists with the highest votes will be tallied with other ballots to determine the final inductees.

As of writing, Duran Duran leads the fan-voted leaderboards with 650,639 votes, Eminem closes the second spot with the band with 564,826, while Pat Benatar is in third with 405,929.

Currently, Dolly Parton is in a close gap with Eurythmics with 296,198 and 282,766 fan votes, respectively.

On the other hand, The Young Folks predicted somewhat a similar standing on the fan leaderboard but included a rather "predictable choice" for the top six inductees.

Duran Duran, Eminem, and Dolly Parton, who have all made their iconic mark on the music industry, were sure inductees, according to the website.

Lionel Richie, Rage Against the Machines, and Dionne Warwick, who falls on the seventh, eleventh, and twelfth spot, were also predicted to be inducted.

The News Herald also posted a similar prediction, describing Eminem and Rage Against The Machine as "shoo-in" and "no brainer" inductees.

Lionel and Duran Duran seemed to be certain about their past Hall affiliations.

Warwick and Parton are also considered because of their longevity and depth, while Beck can be a good contender for he has shaped the Gen X alt nation.

Inductees will be announced in 2022, while the actual date and venue for the ceremony are yet to be disclosed soon.
