Kari Brooke Jobe was born in Waco, Texas, on April 6, 1981. That makes her 41.

Her parents, Mark and Caroline "Sandy" (née Bragg) Jobe, raised her in Watauga and then Hurst, Texas. Kari, a Christian since birth, pledged her life to Christ at the age of 5. 

Her Christian religion influenced her music, which she began singing at three. Kari tried to preach the gospel at a young age. She went to Oral Robert University to achieve her dreams. She studied Pastoral Studies and Psychology at the Christ for the Nations Institute and Dallas Baptist University.

Kari Jobe, a minister at Gateway Church, worked closely with her father Mark on worldwide missions. Three years after the creation of Gateway Church, music lovers founded the Gateway Worship Music Band, with Kari as a leader. Their first studio album, "Unsearchable," came out in 2003, and their first live album "Living for You," came out in 2006. Their 2008 live album "Wake Up the World" hit #2 on the Billboard Christian Album Chart. Walls, her 2015 live album, also charted.

Kari Jobe sang solo projects  apart from her work with Gateway.  Before releasing her first self-titled studio album in February 2009, she released a self-titled collection, a live performance CD, and a Christmas album already. Jobe received multiple honors and was nominated for a Dove Award for best new artist. 

Is Kari Jobe Married?

Yes she is! 

Kari Jobe is married to gospel musician Cody Carnes. Cody, like Kari, grew up loving music. He began leading worship as a teen and played with Christian bands including Hit the Ground Running and Crimson Soul. He later joined the Gateway Worship Band, where he met Kari Jobe. 

Cody began a solo career in February 2017 after singing and co-writing songs with his wife. His debut hit was "The Cross Has the Final Word." The Darker the Night/The Brighter the Morning was his first solo album. He presented Kari as Till the end. 

The pair came down the red carpet at the 2015 Dove Awards to announce their first pregnancy. Canyon Carnes was born on February 18, 2016. 

Kari and her husband announced their second child's arrival in June 2018. Kari shared a photo of Canyon as a child with the words "BIG BROTHER" written in chalk on the sidewalk.
