Lizzo Age, Early Life, Biography

Born Melissa Viviane Jefferson on April 27, 1988, the singer and flutist is 34 years old today!

Professionally known as Lizzo, the artist spent her early days in Detroit, Michigan. Her family later moved to Houston, Texas, when she was ten.

After relocating to another state, the singer began her music career as renowned music instructor Claudia Momen classically trained her.

She studied music until she graduated from Alief Elsik High School.

While in school, she discovered other outlets of music aside from flute, like rapping and singing. She later formed a musical group called "Cornrow Clique" with her pals.

Her name was inspired by "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)," a song by legendary rapper Jay-Z.

Even though she started releasing music in 2011, her career did not skyrocket until 2019. At the time, the release of "Cuz I Love You" attracted mainstream attention, making her one of the most successful musicians in the industry today.
