Liam Payne recanted some harsh remarks he made about former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik on the Impaulsive podcast hosted by Logan Paul. After receiving severe criticism for airing his dirty laundry in public, most notably from his former X-Factor bandmate Cher Lloyd, Payne tweeted early morning of June 2 that his freewheeling commentary may have been quite rresponsible.

Problem is, some would not let him get away with just an apology.

"Guys - I wouldn't normally comment on this stuff but when its your family it's hard to let it slide," he wrote. "They mentioned a specific incident involving Zayn which I responded to - but listening back maybe I didn't articulate myself as well as I could have."

On another tweet continuing his apology, he explained better what he meant on that interview.

He wrote that he was indicating that while Zayn and him would always be different on certain matters, he would always be on his side. This is because he treats Zayn as a brother, not just a bandmate.

Like with his original interview, some fans just refuse to accept what he's saying, calling this apology too little, too late.

"Sorry, but come on now... You said exactly what you meant; else, you wouldn't have spoken it. You stated that there are various reasons why you dislike Zayn. And now you claim he's your sibling? I just don't comprehend. I adore you, but this is unacceptable," one wrote. Another asked if he even apologized to Zayn in person. Others added that this is simply his way to escape the repercussions of his earlier comments.

In the interview, Payne, 28, said there "many reasons" why he dislikes Malik, but also "many reasons" why he'll never stop supporting him. He said that he really cannot judge Zayn because they were simply not brought up the same.

"If I had had to go through what he went through... through his growth and whatever else... my parents are overly supportive to the point where it's annoying at times... and Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense," Payne said.

Fans did not take this comments lightly though, even if he said Zayn is his man or whatever. For them, he was simply comparing himself to Zayn and putting the latter in a bad light. Fans were particularly irked because Zayn is one of the quietest boys in the band.

To recall, Liam Payne actually warned people about judging Zayn, even if this was not accepted by the 1D fans. In his interview, he particularly said, "You can always look at a man for who he is and conclude, 'Oh sure, that guy's a jerk, right?' But at the end of the day, after you realize what he's through to reach that position and whether he truly desired to be there...," you simply cannot judge.

But fans are correct, because he did say that he cannot fully support Zayn on  all of his actions. They have not imaginged him calling out Zayn like that, out of the blue.
