Since "Stranger Things" season 4 volume 2 was set in the 80s, the production did their best to take viewers to the past through visuals. The show completely transformed its characters and the setting to make it as accurate as possible.

Among the elements they used throughout the hit Netflix series was their official soundtrack that featured songs released in that era.

One of the most popular songs that regained its popularity is Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)". The singer finally reacted to her track's success after the show was viewed millions of times by fans.

In a rare statement, the English singer took to her official website to share her thoughts as her song, released in 1985, continues to thrive on the charts.

"You might've heard that the first part of the fantastic, gripping new series of Stranger Things has recently been released on Netflix. It features the song, 'Running Up That Hill' which is being given a whole new lease of life by the young fans who love the show - I love it too!" she wrote. (via People Magazine)

The singer described the moment as "exciting" because the song is currently charting in different countries worldwide.

Bush concluded her statement by expressing her gratitude to fans who supported the song.

"I wait with bated breath for the rest of the series in July," she added.

'Running Up That Hill' Could Be Kate Bush's Highest Chart Peak Ever?

In early reports, Kate Bush's 1985 track might be her highest Billboard Hot 100 peak ever.

Although the charts are currently being dominated by modern artists like Jack Harlow, Harry Styles, and Future, Bush could make her way to the top 10 this week.

The song has also been used several times on TikTok skits as background music.

As of this writing, the track has 154,744,385 streams on Spotify.

Where Was The Song Used on 'Stranger Things?

"Running Up That Hill" became a significant plot in an episode when Max, played by Sadie Sink, was about to be taken by the ghost of Vecna in the underworld.

Fortunately for the character, Nancy and Robin (Natasha Dyer and Maya Hawke) did their research in an asylum, leading them to figure out that listening to music could help the demonic element stop its act.

Upon relying on the information to the group (Dustin, Lucas and Steve), they immediately put headphones on Max.

The plan was a success as Sadie's character was saved.
