Alec John Such, Bon Jovi's original and founding bassist, died on June 5, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving a massive net worth behind.

Fans and friends are still grieving the rock icon's loss, with Deadline reporting that no cause of death has been confirmed.

The band announced the tragic news on Twitter, writing, "Alec was always crazy and full of life." These precious memories bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye today. We'll miss him terribly."

Alec John Such, 10 years Jon Bon Jovi's senior, remained with the band until 1994.

In an interview with the Asbury Park Press in 2000, Such explained why he left the band.

"When I was 43, I started to become burned out," he said at the time, according to Variety.

"It seemed like work, and I wasn't in the mood to work." I first joined a band because I didn't want to work."

Hugh McDonald, a former Park City, Utah resident, replaced the original bassist after he left Bon Jovi. However, he did not become an official member of the band until 2016.

"Jon and I never spoke about it, and all of a sudden, I was a member," McDonald told Desert News in 2018.

"I'm not sure why. Nothing has changed - there is no new therapy. They've always treated me as though I were a member."

The year before, Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

However, at the band's induction, Such reconnected with Bon Jovi.
