Zara Larsson is returning to the music scene, not just as a full-time singer, but also as a multi-hyphenated producer and chief operating officer of her own music label.

Entering stardom at an early age in Sweden, the 24-year-old singer made waves in the United Kingdom and in the United States after signing a three-year contract with Epic Records after the release of her debut album.

The decision to launch her very own music label came after she decided to make a huge move for her flourishing music career.

Zara Larsson Acquired Masters of Her Back Catalog; Launches New Label

Billboard reported that the Swedish singer has officially acquired the masters to her back catalog and launched her very own music label, Sommer House, shortly after - partnering with Sony and Epic Records.

From this point forward, Larsson's official releases from Sommer House will then be licensed through Epic Records in the United States, and then will be distributed through Sony Music Sweden.

The huge decision came on the heels of the singer's end of an 11-year contract with the Swedish independent label, TEN Music Group, and its CEO Ola Håkansson, to whom she signed more than a decade ago.

Describing it as a "unique agreement" between her and TEN Music Group, Larsson was able to reclaim her masters in her back catalog.

"I really want to say thank you to Ola and everyone at TEN for giving me the opportunity to break out as an artist and helping me start my career. You are now also making something happen that is so, so rare for a woman in the music industry - the capability to own my own catalogue. With that it makes perfect sense that I would start my own record company. I very much look forward to my future and to a continued collaboration with Sony as well," she said in a statement.

The Swedish label released Zara Larsson's debut album "1" in 2014, along with other EP. Epic and TEN shared the credits for the two studio albums that came after.

As of this writing, her entire catalog has generated more than 1 million equivalent album units in the United States. (via Luminate)

Larsson has shared the news on Twitter, which prompted her fans the outpouring support for her new endeavor.
