Lily Allen stated she is "overwhelmed" with the opportunity to play her 2009 single "F**k You" at Glastonbury on Saturday. This is because this performance is a breakthrough: she played with Olivia Rodrigo, she did it in front of her kids, she did it after 3 years of sobriety, and she is doing it for a good cause.

The 37-year-old pop artist joined 19-year-old American singer Olivia on stage to perform the song in response to the US Supreme Court's decision to strike down Roe v. Wade.

Allen was happy that her children Marnie Rose and Ethel were able to watch her perform at the festival.

Alongside video of the performance, she tweeted, "So overwhelmed watching this stuff back in the car home. So many emotions. My babies got to see their mamma slay Glastonbury with their favourite pop star today. I actually made them proud! And with nearly 3 yrs sobriety under my belt. So happy."

The "Smile" singer has been open about her struggles with addiction and has finally celebrated this momentous occasion after quitting alcohol and drugs.

Olivia remarked on The Other Stage at Worthy Farm that she was "devastated and terrified" by the verdict that abolished the constitutional right to abortion in the United States, allowing individual states to decide if abortion can be made illegal.

Before Lily took the stage, Rodrigo informed the audience that the day was equally special for her, since it is her first Glastonbury and that going onstge with Lily Allen was her biggest dream come true ever. At the same time, Rodrigo said she's as heartbroken.

She added, "I'm devastated and terrified [by the ruling] and so many women and girls are going to die because of this and I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who showed us at the end of the day they truly don't give a s*** about freedom."

Rodrigo then addressed the Supreme Court justices individually, stating, "This song is dedicated to the judges Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Brett Kavanaugh." Her remarks elicited a rousing cheer from the audience.

In introducing Lily Allen, she described her as someone she "absolutely adore" and one of the most "incredible" songwriters, artists, and persons she show.

Allen was then observed giving the middle finger as she stood on stage, followed by the statement, "We hate you guys!" as the duo started into the profanity-laced song.

The Supreme Court's decision to reverse the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade verdict and return authority to the states to decide whether or not to authorize abortions terminated constitutional safeguards for the procedure that had been in place for almost half a century.

The court determined that the 1973 Roe v. Wade judgment that authorized abortions between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy, before a fetus would be viable outside the womb, was erroneous because the U.S. Constitution makes no mention of abortion rights.

Individual states now have the authority to determine whether or not to prohibit abortion. The pro-choice research organization Guttmacher Institute has stated that 26 states are "certain or probable" to outlaw abortions in the near future.
