Mario Lopez is forming the next generation of one of the biggest Boy Bands of all time, Menudo.
The well-renowned host is joining forces with Menudo Productions to get auditionees in multiple cities starting September 2022.

Billboard exclusively learned that auditions for the next generation of Menudo talents.
Menudo Auditions will start in two weeks online, on the hunt for boys aged 12 to 16. But live auditions will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Sep. 17, 2022, in multiple cities, starting in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
According to Mario Lopez, Menudo auditionees should not just sing and dance, but they should also be able to "handle the responsibilities of becoming globally recognized and embrace being a role model."
"I'm excited to see all kinds of people around the world share the same experience as we did growing up. Menudo was truly the OG boy band. To re-create it will be incredible," Lopez said in a statement.
Menudo will be releasing an app later this month for the auditions. From the app, auditionees can now upload their video entries in hopes of being part of the next-generation Latin boy band.
Per Menudo Productions CEO Paul Tarnopol, the huge move of conducting online auditions came because of the resurgence of social media, the metaverse, and artificial intelligence - ways that were unimaginable a decade ago.
"More importantly, our management team is committed to the safety, well-being, and financial security of each-and-every member of Menudo; this is what we mean by 'A New Beginning,'" Tarnopol confirmed.

Next Generation Menudo in 2022
With Mario Lopez and Menudo Productions' massive team-up, the rollout of the new boy band is expected to reap the same fame as the old group.
Per the organization, the new Menudo team will be "unlike previous group incarnations" as all members of the new group will be sharing all the concert, merchandise, and music revenue.
Management and coaching would also not be something overlooked as they have also confirmed that Menudo's Miami-based management and coaching team is comprised of "season and vetted professionals" from the industry.
"Working with Mario Lopez, Paul Tarnopol, and Menudo's completely new management team to discover and develop the next generation of superstars is the honor of a lifetime," Menudo executive Angel Zamora affirmed.
Menudo Productions is the music and entertainment company focused on talent development and content creation for the next generation of Menudo boys.
