Meek Mill is making a huge move for his career. After spending a decade in Jay-Z's Roc Nation Management company the Expensive Pain hitmaker is now parting ways with the company.

The news came months after the rapper voiced out his frustrations on his label, Atlantic Records, for the poor marketing rollout of his latest album, Expensive Pain.

Meek Mill Leaves Roc Nation Management

After signing with Roc Nation in 2012, Meek Mill is finally leaving Jay-Z's turf after a decade.

As of this writing, Meek Mill is no longer featured on Roc Nation's website and was already removed from the company's social media pages.

Billboard initially reported the huge split but has not provided any reason for what prompted the rapper to leave. However, according to Variety, Mill's connection with Roc Nation run deep so the move must have been complicated.

In 2019, Meek Mill has teamed up with Roc Nation for a joint venture deal for his imprint Dreamchasers, which he leads.

Aside from this, the All Eyes On You hitmaker joined forces with fellow rapper and Roc Nation founder Jay-Z in forming Reform Alliance. It is a non-profit organization built to eliminate unjust sentencing laws in the United States - something that Meek Mill deeply advocates after his incarceration in 2018.

Reform Alliance was formed while Meek Mill was in prison after a controversial ruling that Pennsylvania Supreme Court, eventually overturned after a widely-publicized campaign.

Roc Nation Founder Jay-Z, who Meek Mill shares a close relationship with, wrote an Op-Ed in the New York Times - criticizing the unjust justice system in the country.

What's happening to Meek Mill is just one example of how our criminal justice system entraps and harasses hundreds of thousands of black people every day," Jay-Z wrote.

Meek Mill Calls Out Atlantic Records for 'Expensive Pain'

Storming to Twitter earlier this year, Meek Mill did not mince his words in calling out Atlantic Records for their unfair decisions.

Per Meek, Atlantic Records is keeping him to release another project in the next few months after making them "100's of millions" in revenue.

Despite the alleged poor marketing rollout, Meek Mill's Expensive Pain still managed to debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album charts.
