Barbz has been waiting for the actual release date of "Freaky Girl" since Nicki's teaser last week, as they were excited about the rapper's comeback single.

Based on the song's "pop" sound, some are speculating that Nicki Minaj's upcoming album, which she claims will drop this summer, might be another pop album.

According to NYLON Magazine, Nicki Minaj's "Freaky Girl" might be the start of the rapper's long-awaited pop revival.

The Trinidadian-born rapper's last pop album was in 2012, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," which birthed the hit songs "Starships," "Pound the Alarm," and "Roman Holiday."

Speculations on Minaj's pop era have been going on after the song heavily sampled Rick James' "Super Freak."
