A spokesman for Taylor Swift has replied to a report that criticizes her usage of private jets.

Analysts at the marketing firm Yard released a report on Friday stating that the singer's jet completed 170 flights between January 1 and July 19.

It was claimed that Taylor is the "highest celebrity CO2e polluter so far this year" because her overall flight emissions for the year total 8,293.54 tonnes, which is 1,184.8 times the typical person's total annual emissions. The report even highlighted the fact that even though it was Kylie Jenner who received the most backlash for her jet usage recenlty, she's not even among the top ten.

Meanwhile, critics have overlooked Swift's usage - which easily landed her on the top of the list. On the list were also Floyd Mayweather, JAY-Z, Blake Shelton, Steven Spielberg, Kim Kardashian, and Mark Wahlberg.

The report also said Taylor Swift's usage is SO much higher than the one occupying the second spo - Floyd Mayweather.

Naturally, given all that have been said of Kylie Jenner, the backlash that this report brought against Swift was as massive. More so when her reputation made people expected more from her. This now led to Swift's camp to address the issue and said it was simply unfair and unfounded.

Swift's representative issued a statement insisting that the singer had "lent" the aircraft to others.

"Taylor's jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals," they commented to Rolling Stone. "To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect."

Another big music star, Drake found himself explaining his usage recently too.

Drake has also been criticized recently for supposedly using his own jet for a number of short flights.

The Hotline Bling musician responded to the criticism by claiming he was not on the plane at the time.

"This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at for anyone who was interested in the logistics," he wrote in the comments underneath a post about the controversy on the Real Toronto Newz Instagram account. "Nobody takes that flight."

Whether or not Taylor Swift and Drake are telling the truth, they might need to reconsider using their private jets. According to research, celebrities' use of their jets is truly problematic, regardless of their reasons. If they truly want to advocate for the environment, then they should start checking themselves.

Previous research indicates that only 15 percent of the population accounts for 70 percent of annual flights, while the average amount of CO2e created by\ celebrities' private aircraft in 2022 is currently 3376.64 tonnes per person. In comparison, the average individual generates only 7 tonnes of CO2e yearly.

That is an average of 482,37 times greater than our yearly emissions, yet the year is not even done.

Considering the 21 celebrities featured on the Celebrity Jets account since the beginning of the year, the average flight time was 71.77 minutes and the average distance traveled per flight was 66.92 miles.
