Fans would not be seeing any R&B VERZUZ battle from Usher in the near future because he double downed on not wanting one in a recent interview.

Calls for an R&B VERZUZ have been up in the air for a long time since the rap battle came about in the last few years.

Fans have been pitting Usher and Chris Brown together to relive that nostalgia in the 2010s when the two were still actively ruling the charts.

Although Chris Brown was down for fan service, Usher had other plans.

Usher Doesn't Want a VERZUZ Battle Because of THIS

In a recent episode of "People Every Day" podcast, Usher doubled down on why he does not want a VERZUZ battle at this point in his career.

Proud and aloud, Usher claims that he does not think a VERZUZ battle could handle all of his songs if one would fancy visiting his shows.

Currently, Usher is set to open his next concert at the Park MGM Arena this week as part of his Las Vegas Residency.

"It's like, I could do it by myself. But I don't wanna do that. That's not the purpose of Verzuz, me versus me. But I think it's great. It's great to celebrate music. But the appreciation of it starts with understanding what it is and how long has it taken to do this legacy," he told the publication.

This was not the first time that Usher shut down any chances of a VERZUZ Battle.

In an E! News video with the "DJ Got Us Falling in Love Again" hitmaker; he said that an R&B Mega battle with him, Chris Brown, and even Trey Songz, would not be happening. Noting that people might not be ready yet for that, but probably an onstage reunion would be possible.

Another R&B battle might work if it would include Chris Brown and Trey Songz, but including the "King of R&B" in the mix would be a long shot.

"I'm a different animal, man. I'm cut from a way different cloth man. And when you put those songs on, I'm telling you, I don't think anybody in the world would want smoke with them songs," Usher told PEOPLE Magazine.

Usher is set to take over the Park MGM starting this month until July 2023 for his "My Way: The Las Vegas Residency." For more details, fans can check out this website for ticketing information.
