Taylor Hawkins' death remains a loss to everyone who loved him, including his Foo Fighters bandmate Chris Shiflett.

Hawkins tragically passed away in March at the age of 50 due to a drug-related overdose. His colleagues have been paying tributes to him in the past months, with the most recent one scheduled to happen on September 27 at the Kia Forum.

As they continue to honor his life, Shiflett also opened up about losing the drummer and how the event felt like when he lost his father.

The Foo Fighters guitarist recently appeared on an episode of The Plug With Justin Jay and spoke about Hawkins' untimely and tragic death.

"I remember for a long time after my dad died, you're sad about it, but you almost, like, forget for a second," he said, noting how he would often think to call his dad before remembering he had died," he said.

Shiflett added that he forgot that his father died, which would hit him harder once he realized the truth. Unfortunately, the guitarist is going through it again as they prepare for the upcoming leg of the Hawkins Tribute Concerts.

Out of the things Foo Fighters members still do, Shiflett found walking in the rehearsal studio as something truly bizarre especially when the truth sinks in.

Meanwhile, he noted that a similar feeling was felt when the drummer's son, Shane, played the drums with the band. For Shiflett, Shane is currently the "mini-Taylor."
