Nicki Minaj seemed to be finally on the way to scoring her first-ever GRAMMY Award in her illustrious music career.

With the 2023 GRAMMY Awards eligibility period already at bay, there has been a buzz on social media signifying that the Queen of Rap will finally bring home her first Gramophone.

However, as the award is long overdue to the female rap icon, reactions from the Barbz are mixed - some thrilled while some others are indifferent to the early predictions.

Will Nicki Minaj Win Her First GRAMMY?

According to Hits Daily Double, Nicki Minaj is currently the front runner in the Best Rap Performance/Song category at the 2023 GRAMMY Awards.

Early predictions dictate that Nicki Minaj's newest single "Super Freaky Girl" and feature with Lil Baby "Do We Have A Problem" is leading the pack in the coveted hip-hop category. However, it would seem like she has a tight pack to beat for her to win her first gramophone.

Currently, the predicted songs in the running include Lil Baby's "In a Minute" and Latto's "Big Energy," which the latter had a collaboration with Mariah Carey. Kid Cudi's "She's Lookin' for Me" and "Can't Believe It" and 2 Chainz's "Burrow," among many others. Khalid's star-studded "God Did" is also in the running and so does Lil Tjay's "Beat the Odds" and Yung Gravy's TikTok smash "Betty (Get Money).

While Nicki's early predictions show promise, some Barbz are not convinced with it.

"even if Nicki wins a Grammy it's still f the grammys for the amount of time it took. AND they still lack accreditation for the way they disrespect rap culture, black culture and only uplifts black people they feel will stay silent while they dictate what hip hop is," a netizen posted.

Others are even pointing out that Latto would win the award and that the GRAMMYs will be doing this just to spite the "Super Freaky Girl" rapper. Rumors that the Recording Academy has blackballed Minaj from the show ever since she performed the highly-controversial "Roman Holiday" at the show in 2012 despite the last-minute debacle.

Nicki Minaj has been nominated for the GRAMMY Awards but like Katy Perry, she has yet to score her first. She has been nominated ten times already including Best New Artist in 2012, but she lost to Bon Iver. Her debut album, "Pink Friday" also lost to Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy."
