Fans have been waiting for SZA to drop her next album because it's been five years since she dropped her debut record "Ctrl." Recently, the singer teased fans about the details of her new record and revealed that she's been working with her dream collaborator.

In a cover feature for Complex, the R&B singer confirmed that she's been collaborating with famous producer Rodney Jerkins, popularly known as Darkchild.

The "Broken Clocks" hitmaker said she wanted to team up with the famed hitmaker because of his long list of music catalog featuring some of the biggest hits by legendary musicians like Lady Gaga and Beyoncé's "Telephone" and many more.

SZA also shared a subtle detail about her next album, saying they produced "seven records in one day." However, she didn't reveal how many songs will fans hear in her official tracklist.

Regarding her songwriting, Darkchild gushed about the singer's talent, saying, "Her pen game is arguably one of the best pen games in the game right now. It's almost like she's a rapper tied up in a vocalist... There's no fear in her writing." (via Uproxx)

He added that the songstress has an "X Factor" because she will unapologetically say whatever's in her mind no matter what.

As of this writing, SZA has not revealed the official release date or title of her next album. When asked about when it's coming out, the singer replied, "Very much soon."

SZA Featured on Time Magazine's 2022 Time100 Next

The latest news comes a week after the singer was named as one of Time Magazine's 2022 Time100 Next personalities.

In her profile feature, Lizzo shared a heartwarming message regarding their friendship and gushed over how great of an artist she is.

The "About Damn Time" hitmaker took a trip down memory lane and recalled how she met SZA, saying she and her friends attended one of her shows and they ended up meeting in the bathroom for the first time.

They took a photo which she kept for years and she constantly send it to the R&B star as she didn't know they will have a blossoming friendship over the next few years.

Lizzo's career started skyrocketing after that and she later got booked as a performer in one of SZA's shows.

After the release of "Ctrl," the "Drew Barrymore" songstress' career also took off and the rapper believes it was a "cultural reset."
