Malcolm Young may have been dead for years but his bandmates will remember him for life because of his contribution to AC/DC, especially because he was one of the founding members.

According to Louder Sound, the founding guitarist was forced to leave the legendary rock group in 2014 due to his health condition, leading his nephew Stevie Young to take over his position on their "Rock Or Bust" world tour.

Recently, Brian Johnson released his memoir titled "The Lives Of Brian" where he detailed his experience when the late legend left the group saying the heart of the band "stopped beating."

The musician misses his old pal tremendously as he revealed that he couldn't describe the feeling and put them into words.

Recalling the late legend, he wrote, "He never missed a trick, from a band member's performance to a crew member's well-being. I don't know how he did it. He had his demons, but he beat them, and he beat them good."

He also praised Young for his skills, saying he was a master at playing the guitar. In addition, he shared a different side of the musician, saying there was someone that music critics could never see outside music, which is his good friend.

The reason why he's revealing all the praises now was that he couldn't tell it to Young directly when he was still alive as he "wasn't the kind of guy who enjoyed taking a compliment."

Johnson also shared how bandmate and Malcolm's brother, Angus Young, mourned the musician's death, saying he struggled with "such grief."

Malcom Young's Unfortunate Illness, Tragic Death

After wrapping up the "Black Ice World Tour" with AC/DC, the guitarist was diagnosed with lung cancer. Fortunately, it was detected during its early stages and he eventually recovered from the illness.

However, in 2014, the band announced that Young would be taking a break due to "ill health." At first, his medical condition was not revealed publicly, but it was later confirmed that he struggled with dementia and had been staying at a nursing home.

On November 18, 2017, Malcolm Young, unfortunately, passed away from the disease, leading millions of fans to mourn worldwide. A funeral was held later that month which was attended by many personalities who adored him.
