The first day of the When We Were Young Festival was canceled, but this is not knocking down Paramore's spirits.

Pop-punk fans around the world have been counting down the days until the When We Were Young Festival. One of the most notable performers at this festival is the ever iconic Paramore. As the band prepares to leap into their next musical era, fans made their way down to the event to be sure they were ready for the begining of this launch. However, no launching happened.

The first show date of the When We Were Young Festival had to be canceled due to unprecidented winds. This Las Vegas set event got an official warning that going on with the concert would be unsafe. An issued statement informed disappointed fans of the news. It read:

"When We Were Young Festival organizers have spent the last several days proactively preparing the festival grounds for a windy Saturday...The National Weather Service has now upgraded their Saturday forecast to a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-40 mph sustained winds with potential 60 mph gusts. Under advisements of the National Weather Service and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, we have not other choice than to cancel today's When We Were Young Festival. The safety of our fans, artists, and staff will always be top priority."

While the other weekends of the festival will continue as planned, it is still a disappointment. However, even this unexpected shut-down is not brining down Paramore's high spirits. Lead singer Hayley Williams expressed how proud she is of her band, all that they have accomplished, and how far the world has been able to come. She shared in a letter:

"F*** the ones who doubted! Hugs to the ones who watched on and even sort of believed. Young girls, queer kids, and anybody of any color... We have shifted this scene together, messily, angrily, heartbroken, and determined. Tonight, for me at least, is about celebrating all the facets of what punk music actually represents. All the things it wasn't allowed to be when we were young."

We can't wait to see this tour be celebrated in its well deserved light.
