Is Jay-Z now richer than Kanye West again?

In the past years, Jay-Z and Kanye West have been competing to hold the title of the world's richest rapper. Initially, the "Empire State of Mind" rapper became the first hip-hop artist to reach the billion-dollar net worth mark.

He maintained the position and held the wealthiest rapper in the world until April 2020, when West finally dethroned him.

But amid West's antisemitic comments, the "Jesus Is King" rapper continuously lost the deals that made him a billionaire.

Jay-Z VS Kanye West Net Worth 2022: Who Is Richer?

Forbes recently shared the article "Billionaire No More: Kanye West's Antisemitism Obliterates His Net Worth As Adidas Cuts Ties," confirming that West is no longer the richest rapper.

The site is yet to update West's $2 billion net worth as of April 5, but the magazine (per CNN Business) already estimates his net worth to be around $400 million.

In comparison, Jay-Z's net worth is currently $1.3 billion, replacing West in the wealthiest rappers list. It marked the first time he landed on the spot again after West pushed him down to No. 2 years ago.

Beyonce's husband gets a huge sum of money from the music industry. As of press time, he holds the record for most number-one albums by a solo artist on the US Billboard 200. He also has real estate and businesses as sources of income.

Unfortunately for West, Dr. Dre and Sean Combs are both richer than him, as well, as they have $780 million and $900 million, respectively.

Kanye West Always Complains About His Net Worth

Forbes also noted in its report how Forbes reportedly miscalculated his value.

"Removing Ye from the Billionaires' list caps off a years-long saga between the rapper and Forbes. Ye always felt his net worth was undervalued. When he first made the list in 2020, with an estimated $1 billion fortune, Ye wasn't happy," the magazine said.

West infamously insisted that he was worth $3.3 billion. PEOPLE also confirmed that he had a worth of $6.6 billion, which was a 407 percent increase compared to his previous reported net worth.

Unfortunately, Adidas' move to cut its $1.5 billion worth of partnership with West led the rapper to hit the lowest point of his career yet.
