Aaron Carter, who began singing at age seven, stated in an interview in 1998, when he was around 10 years old, that he had wanted to be a singer since he was very little. His mom took him to singing classes when she found out. He also said he could see himself doing this profession for the rest of his life.

Aaron Carter, unfortunately, passed away at the tender age of 34. Still, one can say he really did live his life singing. He had released some new stuff before his demise. His career was ruined somehow by his vices and relationships, but he stayed true to his passion.

Before embarking on his path to child pop stardom, Carter tested the waters locally as a youngster, joining a rock band called Dead End.

Carter began his debut solo appearances with a bang by opening for the Backstreet Boys, which his brother Nick is part of.

Video footage from gigs in Germany around 1997 shows him performing a high-energy rendition of "Crush on You" by The Jets.

"Crush on You" was released as his first official single on August 15, 1997. Nick Carter even made a surprise appearance in the music video for the bubblegum pop song, giving his younger brother tips on how to win a girl's attention.

On December 1, 1997, Aaron's self-titled debut studio album debuted in Europe before being marketed in the United States.
