Kid Cudi is being called out on Twitter after deleting a song from a streaming platform that one of his fans truly loved; what happened?

According to XXL Mag, a fan took online to share a screenshot of the rapper's song "love." being played on SoundCloud. The user captioned the post with, "I f** love u @KiDCuDi thank you so much for making this masterpiece."

The musician then responded by quote-retweeting the post, telling the listener that he already released the track officially as it is now available on major streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

Another fan chimed in, saying the original version accessible on SoundCloud "hits different," meaning it sounds better than the official release.

Following this, the song had been pulled out from the music platform.

The outlet noted that both songs sound alike, but the official version has a detailed mix compared to the old one. There was also some instrumentation that isn't included in the single released in major platforms.

Kid Cudi Responds to Fans Calling Him Out After Removing 'Love.' on Soundcloud

The rapper garnered mixed reactions on Twitter after doing the big move, with one fan labeling him as "lame."

"kid cudi took love off soundcloud cuz a fan said they enjoyed that version more than the official release... dude lame af for that," one wrote.

Fans bombarded the reply section, saying Cudi was "so salty" for doing it as it wasn't "that deep."

There were also supporters who got his back and defended him for his actions, with one fan saying the comments that the listener who loved the SoundCloud version made can be taken as "disrespectful" as it's not expensive to buy a song on iTunes or have a membership on streaming platforms.

Kid Cudi finally broke his silence regarding the issue, saying anybody talking badly about him removing his song from the platform showed who they truly are.

He added that it was one of the reasons why he wanted to stop creating music because some fans can be "toxic and not cool."

"this app really be showin some of yall true colors," he concluded.

Cudi turned off the reply section for his tweet, but many fans could still quote-retweet the post.
