Last September, Julian Lennon, The Beatles frontman John Lennon's son, released his seventh studio album called, "Jude." Although it was a tribute to the legendary band's song "Hey Jude," the singer couldn't help but recall the "dark" moments of his life because of the track.

In an interview with iHeartRadio, the singer said he associates the song with a "dark" feeling even though he appreciates the writer, Paul McCartney's support to him.

Julian explained that he wanted to clarify his understanding of his perspective on the song because as a five-year-old kid at the time, the lyrics didn't mean that much to him.

However, as he grew up, he realized what the song was all about. The outlet noted that the track was written by Paul McCartney at the time when John Lennon and Cynthia Lennon broke up.

"As much as I'm very thankful because of his support in having written that song a lot of people don't realize it was also a dark reminder of what actually did happen," he further explained.

The case was his father walked out the door, leaving him and his mother on their own to fend for themselves.

After his parents broke up, Julian said the public thought they had "lots of money in the bank," but he clarified that it was never the case.

He added that the most important thing for him was his father looking after his mom.

"She was the be all and end all of life for me, and it was about looking after her, still is about making her proud," he added.

Today, everything that the singer does is dedicated to his mother as he really wanted to make her proud. He added that even though Cynthia isn't with him anymore as she passed away in 2015, Julian knows that she still guides him every step of the way.

Julian Lennon's 'JUDE' Album Reveals More About His Childhood

In early reports, Julian Lennon's seventh album is very personal to him as it tackled his childhood trauma and his father. As mentioned above, the album's title, "Jude," is a nod to the Beatles' song "Hey Jude."

Julian didn't have the best relationship with his dad when he was a kid because he was having an affair with another woman. Through the years, he attempted to look for a "place of peace."

Even though he had already found peace, the sadness came back when he got "lost in the muddle of life."

By working on his recent album, he was able to find a sense of serenity again as he got in touch with himself more.
