Ever wondered why #NoGrammyForGranny is trending on Twitter? It's because Nicki Minaj failed to secure any Grammy nod in the most recent nominations.

While for other stans, Minaj's snub calls for a celebration - her most loyal Barbz, and other music fans were alarmed by the lack of nominations for the female rap royalty.

In case you missed it, Nicki Minaj's "Super Freaky Girl" is nowhere to be found in any categories, despite its mammoth success in the charts and cultural impact.

Among the tweets included on the hashtag thread are alluding to Minaj's recent callout to The Recording Academy for declassifying the track from rap to pop.

"Imagine throwing a tantrum over submissions and end up not being nominated. #nogrammyforgranny," someone posted.

"#NoGrammyForGranny and #superfreakygrandma is kinda funny but Nicki's age isn't the problem. It's her behavior AT HER AGE. Also, the Grammys know her little cult artificially pumped the numbers for that trash ass song. Literally NOBODY likes that song," another shared.

"Did all that huffing and puffing, crying and screaming, mourning and groaning all over the internet just to NOT get nominated. We have to laugh #NoGrammyForGranny," one tweeted.

The snafu that people are referring to is Nicki's tirade that came after reports of her song "Super Freaky Girl" being switched to pop despite being a rap song altogether. This caused a fiery exchange between her and Latto, whose "Big Energy," which was deemed sonically similar, remained in the rap category and was even nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance, apart from her Best New Artist nod.

Meanwhile, some came to defend the rap queen on the recent detractors.

"This is funny because Nicki Minaj is hands down the reason the female rap game of this era is thriving the way it is!!!!!!!!!!! Literally nuts mfs act any differently," The Game said on his Instagram story.

According to HiphopDX, Game and Minaj go a long way back as he starred in Nicki Minaj's "Pills and Potions" music video in 2014. Doja Cat, who had been one of Nicki Minaj's most loyal supporters in the industry, responded to a question asking her about what she thought of Minaj.

Minaj already has ten Grammy nominations in her belt but has yet to win one.
