Bob Dylan's book is making waves on social media after being released earlier this month as the legendary singer criticized other musicians. Now, it's facing another issue as the publisher of his book speaks out after fans noticed a big thing in his signature.

According to the New York Post, publishing house, Simon & Schuster, issued an apology over the weekend and gave out $600 refunds to fans as they confirmed that the "hand-signed" books circulating were not personally signed by the singer.

Taking to their official Instagram account, the company said they wanted to apologize because the "limited edition books do contain Bob's original signature, but in a penned replica form."

With that being said, they will provide each fan who bought "The Philosophy of Modern Song" an immediate refund. As of this writing, Bob Dylan has yet to address the matter.

The recent apology comes a few days after many fans complain regarding the copies they received, alleging that the signatures of their books were similar to other purchasers' copies.

Last week, President and CEO of Simon & Schuster, Jonathan Karp, issued a statement regarding the books, saying all 900 copies have been "hand-signed" by Dylan himself.

The book, which was the singer's first release since publishing "Chronicles, Volume One" in 2004, revolves around his opinion on the nature of popular music.

Chris Frantz Criticizes Bob Dylan's Book

Since Chris Frantz is a longtime fan of the music legend, he was happy to pre-order a copy of his book, but his mood immediately changed when he read the part in which Dylan claimed "Elvis Costello and the Attractions were a better band than any of their contemporaries. Light years better."

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the musician said he knows that Dylan digs Costello, but he didn't have to put it that way.

Although there were many positive reviews about the book, some deem it "misogynistic" as there were only a few songs co-written by women out of 66 tracks that Dylan reviewed.

In a review by the Los Angeles Times, they noted that the essays include several derogatory words used in the book like "gold-digging showgirl," "she-goat," "crazy b****, and many more.

"The Philosphy of Modern Song" is currently Amazon's number one best seller. Fans can purchase a copy via this link.
