Cher and her boyfriend Alexander Edwards have a 40-year age gap that caused a lot of raised eyebrows, but there's more to their love story than just their age.
In her appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Clarkson asked Cher why she preferred dating younger men and if it was because she was "intimidated" by older men.
Apparently, the answer is much simple than everyone had thought. "If I hadn't met younger men in my life, I would have never had a date, because older men just didn't like me all that much," she replied.
"I've had a couple boyfriends who were hovering around my age, but they just didn't like me for some reason," she continued. "Younger men don't care if you're, you know, funny or outrageous and want to do stupid things and you have a strong personality."
Everyone knows the Goddess of Pop has a strong personality. She has a fierce personality and she always speaks her mind. Cher added that she has no plans of "giving up [her] personality for anybody."

Age Gap
This comes after criticisms about her 40-year age gap with her new boyfriend. The relationship is newly cemented, with the couple going public with their relationship in November.
According to Page Six, Cher and Edwards were spotted holding hands as they entered Craig's, an establishment celebrities and artists often go to mingle, in West Hollywood.
The pictures show that the couple is very much into each other. A picture even showed the rapper kissing Cher's hand while they were inside a car.
During her "The Kelly Clarkson Show" appearance, she explained why she was dating someone so much younger than her.
"On paper, it's kind of ridiculous," she exclaimed. "But in real life, we get along great. He's fabulous. And I don't give men qualities that they don't deserve."
She went off ratling the traits she best liked about her new beau, "He's very kind, very smart, he's very talented, and he's really funny, and I think he's quite handsome."
Although she is now dating someone a lot younger than her, Cher used to be married to a man much older than her.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Cher's first husband, Sonny Bono, was more than 10 years her senior when they first met in the 1960s. That relationship ended in a messy divorce.
However, nowadays it seems like the singer is very happy and content with her new romance, and does not let the criticisms bother her.
