Lizzo took home one of the most prestigious awards from the 2022 People's Choice Awards-the People's Champion Award-on Tuesday evening, which has caused several to wonder what she did to earn her such a high honor.

Let's take a walk down memory lane to see the star's accomplishments this year that made her a standout musician and performer, as well as her impact on pop culture.

TikTok just released its year-end list, which shows which artists fans loved watching the most on the app; and apparently, the 34-year-old was named this year's most-watched artist.

According to Hypebae, Lizzo dethroned Megan Thee Stallion as "TikTok's Queen of Music."

Lizzo's rise on the app should come as no surprise, after all, her 2022 music releases have all received widespread acclaim and commercial success.

Paving the Way

Lizzo's success in 2022 can be traced back to her career breakthrough in 2019, and she has been paving the way since the release of "Cuz I Love You," her third studio album.

Since then, Lizzo has been making waves in the music industry and even branching out.

In August 2020, the "Truth Hurts" singer partnered up with Amazon Studios for "Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls," a reality show where contestants dance for the singer.

Despite having just one season out, as of this writing, the show performed remarkably well and received six Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.

It won Outstanding Competition Program under the Primetime Emmy Awards; Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program under the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

When Lizzo promised a "new era" with the release of her hit song "Rumors" she wasn't joking. 2022 saw some of the biggest musical releases, including "About Damn Time" as well as the release of her fourth studio album, "Special."

"About Damn Time" dominated the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, alongside some of 2022 biggest releases like "Break My Soul" by Beyonce and Post Malone's "I Like You (A Happier Song)".

In September, Lizzo left the fans in awe of her talent as she played the flute during her Washington D.C. concert.

According to reports, the singer was the first and only person to play the centuries-old instrument, which also happened to be owned by former President James Madison.

Apparently, Lizzo dreamed of becoming a concert flautist and has been playing the flute since she was a child. She first played it by ear then eventually got private lessons.

Lizzo is one of the biggest names in music right now, and there's no stopping her. In fact, this might just be the beginning of a long, successful career for her.

During the People's Choice Awards, her mother, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, presented her with the People's Champion Award, "She has shown us all that we don't have to conform to anyone's standards in order to be happy, to be creative and to feel worthy.

"I know that Lizzo has literally saved lives. No one is more deserving of this honor. I am so proud of her."
