Due to ongoing health problems and a new diagnosis, Celine Dion said she is postponing her next tours.

The Canadian singer, 54, said that she would postpone or cancel gigs scheduled for next year since she has been diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome, per Fox News.

SPS is a rare autoimmune movement illness that affects the brain and spinal cord as well as the central nervous system.

The "My Heart Will Go On" singer said in a devastating Instagram post that she had been battling with health issues for a very long time and that it had been difficult for her to face them and talk about what she had gone through.

"It hurts me to tell you that I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February," she further said in the caption.

The singer, who speaks French, also responded to the news in a video, stating that while she is still learning about the uncommon ailment, they are aware that it has been the root of all of her recent spasms.

Every part of her life is believed to be impacted by the aforementioned spasms, which can make it impossible for her to walk and even utilize her vocal chords to sing, which is something she is well-known for.

The "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" singer revealed to her fans that she has been putting a lot of effort into strengthening herself with a sports medicine therapist, but acknowledged that it hasn't always been easy.

Celine Dion added, "All I know is singing it's what I've done all my life and its what I love to do the most."

Stiff-Person Syndrome, which is supposed to make people into "human statues" as the body gets increasingly stiff, has no known treatment.

Additionally, this illness progresses and causes muscle spasms and changing muscular stiffness. The intensity and course of SPS might varies from person to person, although symptoms often appear over a period of months and may stabilize for years or gradually deteriorate.

According to AmeriPharma Specialty, a patient with Stiff-Person Syndrome has a life expectancy of 6 to 28 years from the beginning of the ailment.

Celine Dion Health Battle

According to The List, Celine Dion performed a total of 714 concerts at her first Las Vegas residency from 2003 to 2007, grossing over $385 million from more than two million ticket sales.

She subsequently went back to Sin City for a second residency, performing 427 concerts there between 2011 and 2019. She also had back-to-back worldwide tour dates planned at this time. As a result of a throat ailment, Celine was allegedly fatigued and losing her voice by 2016.

However, upon the passing of her husband, René Angélil, her health deteriorated.

After the pandemic prompted them to cease production of her performances, Celine declared in 2021 that she would resume her residency in Las Vegas.

In spite of her excitement, Celine admitted to ET that she wasn't in the appropriate frame of mind to proceed because she continued to have severe and chronic muscular spasms.

Due to the pandemic, her global tour's North American leg had to be originally delayed and then rescheduled. Nevertheless, she said in early 2022 that she would postpone once more due to unresolved health difficulties. The same issues led to the cancellation of the European leg as well.

Fans also took notice of how much weight she lost so much so that many people mistakenly thought she was anorexic-but this was due to her health problems, not to self-starvation.
