Celine Dion is one of the biggest vocalists of all time. With her immense vocal power and innate stage presence, she is widely considered one of the greatest singers of recent memory.
However, in the past few years, Dion has been held back because of the emergence of different health ailments that have kept her from giving her 101% when performing live.
Earlier this year, she had delayed her upcoming United States and European tour because of "severe and persistent muscle spasms," she experiences during performances.
This has sparked a larger interest in Dion's health throughout the past months. Now, Dion, 54, shared a very emotional and upsetting piece of niews on her Instagram account.
"Recently, I've been diagnosed with a very rare neurological condition called Stiff Person Syndrome, which affects something like one in a million people," Dion said in a video. "While we're still learning about this rare condition, we now know that this is what has been causing all of the spasms that I've been having."

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Stiff Person Syndrome, happens to one in a million patients. It is characterized by fluctuating muscle rigidity in the trunk and limbs and a heightened sensitivity to stimuli such as noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms.
Per Yale Medicine, there is no cure yet for Stiff Person Syndrome, but there is a treatment used by the medical community to relieve its symptoms. Intravenous Immunoglobulin is used to treat people with SPS, although it is dependent upon the patient's body's response to it.
According to the National Library of Medicine, the annual treatment cost of IVIg treatment in the United States was reported to be $108,016 and $136,892 in 2014 and 2018.
With Celine Dion's net worth, the cost of the treatment alone could already be covered even if she has to do the treatment twenty times.
