Public figures are usually the center of attention of the people, if not for their voice and talent, probably for their looks, charm, and influence.

Kehlani, one of the biggest R&B recording artists in the past years, has voiced out her frustrations and disappointment on social media about an issue that most public figures have been suffering for quite a while already - sexual assault.

The "It Was Good Until It Wasn't" hitmaker just finished his European leg for the Blue Water Road Trip tour. Shortly after her final bow, Kehlani took to Instagram to say something important.

"I've made video after video after video and deleted it because I don't want any video of me as angry, triggered, crying upset as I am anywhere," she wrote in a since-deleted statement," she said in a now-deleted Instagram story.

However, that wasn't the end of her long rant, as Kehlani continued to recall the horrible encounter she had previously experienced.

"I don't care how sexual you deem my music, my performances, my fun with my friends dancing at clubs, or ME... That does not give any of you the right to cross a boundary like sticking your hands up my skirt & pulling my underwear to TOUCH MY GENITALS as I am being escorted through a crowd after performing. This s- made me sick to my stomach. As a victim of sexual assault, I am endlessly triggered and mindblown," she elaborated.

According to Billboard, Kehlani was a staunch supporter of sexual assault victims. And as she mentioned in her post, the cause is much closer and dear to her as she had become a victim herself.

She has also repeatedly and continuously stood up to her sexual abusers and assault.

Speaking to Billboard in 2017, Kehlani had this to say about women during the #MeToo movement.

"We are women; we are life, we are the life source. That can be scary for people and it can result in terrible things, but don't forget you who came from and where you are. Don't forget your power, don't let any trauma take away your power. That's easier said than done, but you got this," she said at the time.

In the same year, Kehlani was awarded by Billboard Women in Music the Rule Breaker Award, an award that recognizes female artists who use their music and platform to defy traditional industry expectations and advance a powerful message for young people.
