It appears that Ed Sheeran is venturing out into different genres as a collaboration between him and the band Cradle of Filth might be in the works after fans speculate on a recent photo posted by Dani Filth; could this be finally happening?

According to Loudwire, a new song could come out soon as the "Shape of You" hitmaker was spotted hanging out with the band's vocalist along with producer Scott Atkins at the Four Horseshoes pub in Thornham Magna in Suffolk, England.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the metal rock singer shared the snap of them raising their glasses while plates of food are placed around the table.

"A little over a week ago I was having lunch with the unlikely lads, having just done something fun," Dani Filth wrote along with metal horn emojis.

The outlet noted that Atkins run Grindstone Studios and has previously worked on Cradle of Filth's previous albums as well as engineered, produced, and mastered several records by Vader, Gama Bomb, and many more musical acts.

To double down the proof that the band and Sheeran might be working together on a song, the recording studio is located in Suffolk.

Ed Sheeran to Death Metal Music Soon?

Last year, Ed Sheeran surprised his fans when he previously revealed that he was fond of death metal music during his early years.

He noted that he listened to Slipknot and Cradle of Filth as a kid and he's not opposed to the idea of releasing music under the said genre.

"That's something I've never thought about doing - but something I would not be opposed to creating," he said.

Dani Filth then took to social media to express his excitement at the time, posting the screenshot of an article regarding his revelation.

"I'll believe it when I see it. Fellow Suffolk lad could come good in the end. 'Dracula's Castle On The Hill' anyone?" he wrote in the caption.

Weeks later, the vocalist confirmed that he had been in contact with the "Thinking Out Loud" singer, saying that they exchanged e-mails and was later invited to visit the musician's house.

"He said he'd do anything. Quite literally. He said he's a massive fan. He seems like a genuinely very nice guy actually," he added.

As of this writing, neither of the two singers has revealed whether they indeed have a collaboration song or not.
