Tory Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020, and he is now facing more than 22 years of jail time as well as deportation.

According to New York Times, the Canadian rapper was convicted of three counts of felony, including assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

During the trial, Megan Thee Stallion said that Lanez had shot her in the foot after yelling at her to "dance," and offered her a million dollars to keep the incident a secret, in fear of him going to jail.

Other events that took place on that fateful night were also revealed during the trial. Thee Stallion said that Lanez insulted her, saying she "ain't s**t," which prompted her to attack his career.

This incident happened during a house party located at the home of reality star Kylie Jenner.

During that time, Thee Stallion claimed that she had injured her foot after stepping on broken glass, however, she recanted her statement and said Lanez had shot her.

It took a while before the rapper came forward with her allegations, and even faced criticism and backlash, many accused her of lying, reports say.

Thee Stallion's Testimony

"At this time we are at the height of police brutality," Thee Stallion said. "I felt if I said this man had shot me, they might shoot first and ask questions later. I don't feel safe in the car. I don't feel safe with the police."

The trial, although it did not take that long, had a lot of twists and turns. According to reports, Lanez's defense insisted that he did not shoot the rapper, and even Thee Stallion's former best friend, Kelsey Harris, testified that Lanez did not shoot the rapper.

However, the prosecution released footage of Harris saying it was Lanez who shot Thee Stallion.

The most prominent people who testified were Thee Stallion and Harris. It was their words that made the jury decide on Lanez's fate going forward.

In the end, the jury took the "WAP" rapper's side and convicted Lanez. TMZ reports that aside from facing jail time, he might also get deported back to Canada, where he is originally from.
